This case is a series of murders that have been occurring in and around Marihama-dai. The story begins with the assistant detective, Izuna Sagishima, who is working with the police to investigate the case. Meanwhile, a detective agency is forced to do a half-assed job on the detective's behalf. Masao Ikurumi, a scenario writer, is asked by a company to search for a person. The woman he was investigating, Yumiko Hamakawa, was a contract employee working in the secretarial department. After a month of work, she suddenly disappeared... Izuna and Ikurumi. The story begins when Masao Ikurumi, a scenario writer, receives an invitation to participate in the beta test of a new network game, "Misty Online". "Misty Online" is Japan's first MMOADV, a groundbreaking game in which players work together with their friends to solve crimes in a world that closely resembles a real town. The player, Izuna Sagishima of the Kibukawa Detective Agency, participates in the beta test and takes on a fictional murder case, only to find that the player playing the role of the "corpse" who fell to his death from a great height does not respond at all... IGN took delivery of a rarity this past Saturday: an Online GameCube game. Chunsoft, still probably lighting cigarettes off Dragon Quest money from years ago, shipped out beta copies of Homeland, an Online RPG for the GCN. While the actual Online part of the beta test hasn't started, we did get in some playtime with the Offline side and posted impressions to IGNCube. Aside from that, it was a pretty slow week for gaming in Japan. There weren't too many big announcements. Nintendo announced new "entertainment" products for the DS which take the system into the realm of the PDA. There were also some big sequels announced. Check out the next page for some links. With nothing spinning around in our game systems, we decided to take our camera out to one of our favorite culture zones, the massive Tsutaya outlet in front of Shibuya station. Here's what we saw in the 2nd floor game section.
